Keystone Poker – Player Code of Conduct

1. Purpose of This Code

The Keystone Poker Player Code of Conduct (“Code”) outlines the expectations for all participants at Keystone Poker events. Our goal is to maintain a respectful, fair, and enjoyable environment for players, volunteers, staff, and spectators. By participating in any Keystone Poker event, you agree to follow this Code.

2. Respectful Behaviour

Players must treat all individuals with respect, including:

  • Fellow players

  • Dealers and volunteers

  • Event organizers

  • Venue staff

Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or abusive language will not be tolerated.

3. Fair Play & Integrity

Keystone Poker expects all players to uphold the highest standards of integrity. This includes:

  • Following event rules and dealer instructions

  • Avoiding collusion or soft‑play

  • Not sharing hidden card information

  • Refraining from cheating, angle‑shooting, or manipulating gameplay

Any violation may result in penalties, removal from the event, or future bans.

4. Responsible Conduct at the Table

Players must maintain a professional and sportsmanlike presence. This includes:

  • Acting in turn

  • Keeping cards and chips visible

  • Avoiding excessive celebration or disruptive behaviour

  • Not using offensive gestures or language

5. Alcohol & Substance Use

Moderate alcohol consumption may be permitted depending on the venue, but intoxication that disrupts play or creates safety concerns is prohibited. Illegal substances are strictly forbidden.

6. Electronic Devices

To maintain fairness:

  • Phones and devices must not be used to gain an advantage

  • Players may not consult strategy apps or receive outside assistance during a hand

  • Recording or streaming may be restricted depending on the event

7. Chip & Card Handling

Players must:

  • Protect their cards at all times

  • Handle chips responsibly

  • Avoid splashing the pot

  • Refrain from intentionally damaging cards or equipment

8. Dispute Resolution

If a disagreement occurs:

  • The dealer will make an initial ruling

  • Floor staff or tournament directors may be called for clarification

  • All decisions made by tournament officials are final

9. Penalties for Violations

Depending on severity, violations of this Code may result in:

  • Verbal warnings

  • Missed hands or rounds

  • Chip penalties

  • Removal from the event

  • Suspension from future Keystone Poker events

10. Photography & Media

Players may be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes.

11. Commitment to Community

Keystone Poker events are community‑driven and charity‑focused. Players are expected to contribute to a positive, welcoming environment that reflects the values of the organizations we support.

Keystone Poker – Tournament Staff Code

1. Purpose of This Code

The Keystone Poker Tournament Staff Code (“Code”) outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and professional standards required of all staff, volunteers, and floor personnel working at Keystone Poker events. Our goal is to ensure a safe, fair, and welcoming environment for players, spectators, and partners.

2. Professional Conduct & Representation

Tournament staff represent Keystone Poker at all times. Staff must:

  • Maintain a professional, respectful demeanor

  • Treat all players, volunteers, and venue staff with courtesy

  • Avoid favoritism, bias, or inappropriate interactions

  • Uphold Keystone Poker’s values and community‑focused mission

3. Fairness & Integrity

Staff are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the event. This includes:

  • Enforcing rules consistently and impartially

  • Avoiding conflicts of interest

  • Refraining from participating in the event while working

  • Reporting suspicious behaviour, collusion, or cheating

4. Responsibilities at the Table

Dealers and table staff must:

  • Follow standardized dealing procedures

  • Maintain clear communication with players

  • Keep the game moving efficiently

  • Ensure chips, cards, and equipment are handled properly

  • Call the floor when needed without hesitation

5. Floor Staff Duties

Floor staff are responsible for:

  • Resolving disputes fairly and promptly

  • Monitoring gameplay for rule violations

  • Supporting dealers and volunteers

  • Managing table balancing, seat assignments, and breaks

  • Documenting incidents when necessary

6. Communication Standards

Staff must communicate clearly, calmly, and respectfully. This includes:

  • Providing concise explanations of rulings

  • Avoiding arguments or emotional reactions

  • Ensuring players understand procedures

  • Keeping internal communication professional and discreet

7. Alcohol & Substance Policy

Staff must not consume alcohol or impairing substances while on duty. Any staff member who appears impaired will be removed from their shift immediately.

8. Use of Electronic Devices

To maintain professionalism and fairness:

  • Personal devices must not be used at the table

  • Phones should be silenced during shifts

  • Staff may only use devices during designated breaks

9. Safety & Venue Compliance

Staff must:

  • Follow all venue rules and safety protocols

  • Report hazards or unsafe behaviour

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized event space

10. Confidentiality

Staff may have access to sensitive information, including:

  • Player details

  • Incident reports

  • Sponsor or partner information

This information must not be shared outside official duties.

11. Media & Photography

Staff must follow Keystone Poker’s media guidelines. Only authorized personnel may take photos, record video, or speak on behalf of Keystone Poker.

12. Violations & Consequences

Depending on severity, violations of this Code may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings

  • Removal from the event

  • Suspension from future staffing opportunities

  • Reporting to venue management or authorities if required

13. Acknowledgment

By working at a Keystone Poker event, staff acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to follow this Tournament Staff Code.
